PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- PCSSD is partnering with MIND Research Institute to offer PCSSD Math Week next week. This initiative is part of the District’s Full STEAM Ahead initiative in May to champion STEM principles throughout the District.
The District’s goal is to log 400,000 minutes of Math Week activities played by families from May 16-20. Families log their time by completing a daily survey.
PCSSD Math Week is a chance to put away the worksheets, paper/pencil formulas, and calculators to simply engage with math as a family through delightful games and stories - all from the comfort of your own home.
Students, K-8, will have the opportunity to complete daily math games with their families. Math Week is a community engagement opportunity that aims to change how math is experienced. A Math Week website will provide free stories, games, and activities in English and Spanish. The games can be played in and out of the classroom and encourages family participation and play at home.
